What’s the plan?

Westhumble does not currently have any community space, and while the populous here are community minded there is no location for people to gather and support each other. The proposal intends to provide an area where our diverse residents can come together and enjoy the outdoors and each other’s company. The proposal would include an orchard, meadow, seating, and a small children’s play area; all of which would be considerate of the natural environment and surroundings. We have spoken to those neighbouring the land and tried to rake onboard their comments and suggestions. We have also spoken to other residents all of whom are in support of this venture and all agree we need a local, community venture to better support the area. We hope that this project will greatly enhance the enjoyment of Westhumble for all ages.

Considering our neighbours it is very important to us that this only enhances every community member’s enjoyment of our hamlet. The proposed play equipment is designed to be minimal and placed directly behind the chapel. It will be screened on all sides and surrounded by our beautiful new orchard. Benches within the orchard will be positioned sympathetically, avoiding any direct view of private land.
